Holder of a Master’s Degree in Applied Foreign Languages and fluent in three languages (French, English and German), I changed the course of my career after taking a college course in Interactive Media in Derry. A highly creative and independent person, I am now seeking a position as a junior graphic/web designer.
Passionate about digital art, I enjoy working with various media, especially traditional drawing and photographs. My drawing style is heavily inspired by mangas and western comics, yet I’m currently working it towards a more realistic style. I have developed over the years various techniques on Photoshop to render a rough sketch without losing its energy. The result can be something like that or that.
The awe-inspiring landscapes of Ireland inspired me to take photographs, as I felt drawing was not enough to capture their magic and beauty. I essentially take pictures of wild landscapes, streets, sunsets and holiday events. Lately, I started using photography to create my own background pictures, reference photos, patterns and textures. The latter have become an essential part of my design as I love giving my creations an “organic” feel – like that illustration.
Being a young web designer, I understand what makes a catchy and efficient website and keep myself up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends and standards. My focus is mostly on usability, clarity and intuitive navigation – as well as easy maintenance. I am also keen on giving the web interface a light interface (to make room for the content), yet with a slight creative edge to make it unique and more attractive.
I also enjoy making videos - especially editing them, not that I don't like filming. Putting the clips together, cutting and slicing, mixing the whole thing, messing around with the filters - this is where the magic happens! I have done only one video – or rather, three versions of the same video so far, yet that is enough to show the different styles I can create. One of them has been nominated for an award.
